The Race for a Hero: Support Eric Stevens & The Fight Against ALS Most people live as if they have all the time in the world. But for Eric Stevens, life has always been about the seconds that count. An NFL veteran, a dedicated family man, and a firefighter at LAFD Station 21, Eric spent his career as a "First Duty" hero—putting the lives of strangers above his own. For years, the community cheered and gave thumbs-up as Eric sped by in the big red truck, sirens wailing and lights flashing, ready for any task. Now, Eric is fighting the uphill battle of his life against ALS. It is time for the community to return the favor. It is time for us to be the ones who show up when the call goes out. Introducing: Code 3 Checker Team The Code 3 Checker Team was founded to unite firefighters across the USA in the fight against ALS. We aren't just racing for trophies; we are racing for awareness, for medical breakthroughs, and for the lives of our brothers and sisters. The Mission: The Format: Each participating fire station enters two go-karts and a rotation of twenty drivers. The Tour: This city-to-city, state-to-state racing series will kick off in Los Angeles CA, in the Spring of 2026. The Goal: Every kart will carry sponsors, with all proceeds donated directly to the AXEALS Foundation. The Appeal: We are racing to bring this fight to the national stage. We believe in the power of leadership to move mountains, and we are calling on President Trump to join Eric in this battle and help ignite the change needed to defeat this disease.
